Curated Coaching VS 1:1 Coaching

Lifelong Endurance is proud to introduce our newest training experience, Curated Coaching. While both forms of coaching involve plan creation and guidance from our knowledgeable Lifelong Endurance coaches, they provide differing services to meet individual athletes' needs. Our goal at every level is to provide athletes with an amazing training experience that drives them to become the best version of themselves. Coaching. A Better You.


Communication

Communication is key aspect of joining a training program but it’s the number 1 thing you don’t get from a static training plan from Hal or RW. Questions arise for any athlete, and how they are addressed varies between the two programs. Curated Coaching provides athletes with a Facebook Community filled with athletes and coaches to crowd source questions. Athletes in the Curated Coaching program are also welcome to send an email to our coaches@lifelongendurance.com email where one of our staff coaches will respond within 24 hours. Finally, with Curated Coaching, athletes are welcome to add calls to their subscription package. With 1:1 Coaching, athletes are provided with a monthly or weekly phone or video calls in which they discuss goal planning, review workout data and make training plan adjustments with specific guidance from their coach.


Training

In both the Curated Coaching and 1:1 Coaching programs, Lifelong Endurance’s skilled coaches are creating specialized plans within the TrainingPeaks platform. This allows the workouts to be downloaded directly to your watch. Your workout data from each workout is stored in an easy-to-read and informative way on TrainingPeaks (Want to learn more?). With Curated Coaching, the training plan is adaptive, based on the athlete's heart rate and pace zones. The plans are created based on the race distance, terrain, and athlete performance level and provided with information regarding adjusting zones so the athlete may grow in their plan. In 1:1 coaching, the training plan is completely customized to meet the athlete's training and personal schedule, existing as a living document and tuned weekly by a personal coach. 1:1 coaching clients that purchase Silver and Gold programs receive a complimentary TrainingPeaks Premium Subscription ($10/ Month Value).

Schedule Updates

It is impossible to know the future, and obstacles present themselves in training. For this reason, Curated Coaching provides athletes with opportunities to adjust their plan based on their needs. At the initial start of the plan, athletes are asked about their upcoming races, preferred days off, and any other potential scheduling factors so their plan may be customized to their specific needs. As the training cycle goes on, athletes may request further adjustments. Further adjustments are billed on an $30/ hour basis. 1:1 coaching, weekly or daily adjustments are included in the monthly payment and are encouraged when dealing with changing work schedules, travel, vacation, or health. 

Analysis and Feedback

As an athlete moves forward in their training journey, may desire feedback and analysis in order to measure their growth. Curated Coaching provides athletes with TrainingPeaks Basic so the athlete is able to have a concrete view of their success and progress. Curated Coaching athletes are also encouraged to reach out in the Facebook Community to share their training, successes, and struggles with fellow athletes and coaches. 1:1 Coaching provides athletes with TrainingPeaks Premium Athlete Edition, which is analyzed weekly or daily by a personal coach.

Strength Training

Strength Training is extremely important for athletes who wish to gain endurance, speed, and avoid injuries in training. With Curated Coaching, an athlete is able to add on strength training to their subscription with a progressive 8, 12, or 16 week programs to fit whether it is the off-season or in preparation for a race. 1:1 Coaching includes strength training and is adjusted to an athlete’s specific needs, along with the ability for the coach to work alongside an existing PT or Sport Rehab Specialist.

Deciding which Program is Right for You

Curated Coaching was designed to fit the needs of beginner to advanced athletes who are on a budget, or looking for a way to save money during their off-season. The program provides independent athletes with structure and guidance, as well as with a community to grow in the sport. Athletes who work well independently, or desire little adjustment will thrive in the Curated Coaching program. 1:1 Coaching is geared towards new runners to elite athletes, or those who are chasing ambitious goals that need more specification. Athletes who are injury prone or desire more individual interaction with a coach may prefer 1:1 Coaching.
