What’s this clinic all about?
This clinic is about helping athletes set up their season for success and build out a training program that works for their season. As a company with the mission to help as many athletes as possible become the best version of themselves we want to help you design a training program that’s smart, progressive, and designed for your success. We will help you build a plan in 3 ways.
Training Plans 3 Ways:
We can help you review your training program on paper or web based (TrainingPeaks)
We will help you build out a plan in TrainingPeaks
We will help you build out a plan in excel or on paper
Who is going to be there?
Coach Lexi, Coach Katie, and Coach Andrew Simmons will be on site to help answer your questions, design training, and dig deep on making tweaks. We kept the clinic small to ensure that every athlete that attends gets some 1:1 time with a coach to review and give feedback on a plan. Our coaches are certified, educated, and experienced in training runners and triathletes from beginners to elite. Bring your hard questions and your biggest training problems. We’re here to guide you to your success.
What are you going to cover?
We’re going to cover different kinds of workouts for different athletes and how training blocks should be designed. We will review workouts for 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Road Marathon distances. Training plans are not just for road races, trail Runners bring your plan, too! We will be covering trail racing and races up to 100 miles. It’s important to build a plan with great workouts but it also needs to include lots of rest. We will also include a few rules to help you ensure you’re not headed for burnout or over racing this season. We promise to share a few nuggets of wisdom on how to race regularly and not burnout.
Considerations for building out your plan:
Is your plan periodized?
Is your plan focused and built for gradual development?
Is your plan going to allow you to recover?
What do I need to bring? What’s provided?
If you have built out a rough plan and design for your workouts, big training sessions, or even your seasonal plan let’s review it. We’ll help you optimize, strategize, and plan for your next big race. If you’re coming to us with nothing we’re happy to help you start from scratch. We’ll have a few paper templates as well as WiFi on site if you need help dialing in a web based platform like TrainingPeaks.
What you need to bring:
Bring a comfortable sweatshirt or top layer, the gym can be a little chilly if we’re sitting around not sweating :)
Bring your plan in whatever form you have it - paper, scribbles on a napkin, or on your computer.
Bring specifics for your races. How much gain in that 50 miler? Does this race challenge your weaknesses?
Questions. All of them!
